The most intriguing rumor swirling around the NFL involves former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young potentially heading to the Las Vegas Raiders for a fourth-round selection. Meanwhile, quarterback storylines continue to unfold across the league, with Jameis Winston breathing new life into Cleveland’s season through a stellar 334-yard, three-touchdown performance against Baltimore, while veteran Joe Flacco prepares to step in for the injured Anthony Richardson in Indianapolis. Will Tuesday’s trade deadline be full of surprises and completely transform the NFL?

As No. 4 Ohio State ventures into Happy Valley to face No. 3 Penn State before 107,000 rabid fans, questions linger about the Buckeyes’ standing following their razor-thin loss to Oregon. Meanwhile, the top-ranked Ducks, channeling memories of Chip Kelly’s undefeated 2012 squad, head to Michigan as surprising 14 1/2-point favorites. The weekend’s slate also features the World’s Greatest Cocktail Party, where Georgia faces a resurgent Florida team that’s won three straight under pressure-mounted coach Billy Napier. Are the traditional college football powerhouses in for a seismic shift?

Has Jared Goff emerged as the NFL’s MVP dark horse? The Detroit Lions quarterback, completing an astounding 80% of his passes, has orchestrated an offense that’s averaged over 50 points in recent weeks, crediting innovative offensive coordinator Ben Johnson for his renaissance. But with defensive stalwart Aidan Hutchinson sidelined, can the Lions maintain their momentum at Lambeau Field? In the NFC West, the Los Angeles Rams have stormed back into contention, seeking their third victory in ten days as they head to Seattle’s notoriously loud Lumen Field, though questions surround Puka Nacua’s availability. Cooper Kupp’s trade rumors have subsided following their recent surge, but in a division where the San Francisco 49ers historically mount late-season charges, will this weekend add a new layer of excitement to playoff expectations?

Hey everybody, it’s that time again. It’s Fred the Fantastics on PodClips and BLEAV around the world, we’ll talk about this, that and anything in sports. Laura Snoke with us, and she’s wearing, of course, her World Series Dodger t-shirt, and Art Sorce, former kicker for the Rams and the Trojans with us. And again, we’ll talk about this, that and anything in sports, and you can email us at sportsfred@aol.com, sportsfred@aol.com and Tuesday, November, 5, the most important day this year in America. That’s right, NFL trading deadline. Everybody laugh now please. NFL trading deadline. Art, lot of trades going to be made or not a lot of trades going to be made, obviously.

Well, the one I did hear, Fred, is that they’re thinking about Bryce Young being traded to the Las Vegas Raiders from the Carolina Panthers for a fourth-round draft pick. I don’t know if Bryce Young is the answer to the Raiders quarterback dilemma, but I don’t think they can go wrong giving it a shot for a fourth-rounder. That’s one thing I heard. Some other news, basically in the NFL, Jameis Winston finally got a shot in Cleveland, responded with three touchdowns, 334 yards through the air, and Cleveland beat a really good Baltimore team, and, and, now Joe Flacco is going to replace Anthony Richardson. Now, in the last 10 games that Flacco has played outside of Baltimore, he’s actually won seven of those games, and he’s had tremendous, tremendous ability. The guy still throws the ball real well. In these four and four, they really need him to step up this week. You know it’s going to be, it’s going to be something to really behold. It should be something exciting to watch.

Laura, you’re a big Raider fan. You heard what Art just said about Bryce Young, do you think you definitely need a new quarterback?

Well, the Raiders definitely need a new quarterback. There’s no question. I don’t know if Bryce Young is the answer, but I don’t, I agree with Art, I don’t think they could go wrong. I mean, Gardner Minshew is not the answer. Aidan O’Connell is not the answer. And no team in the NFL can win with a sub, substandard quarterback. It’s just that’s the way it is.

The years of the Pat Hadens and guys like that, who are the managers, the Dave Craigs, the game managers with a great team around them, they don’t, it doesn’t exist anymore in the modern league. I mean, you look at guys like Patrick Mahomes, you know, and even your favorite, Fred, Aaron Ego Rogers. I mean, those guys don’t, they seem to have that in Seattle.

There’s, there’s an article in USA Today on Friday, about NFL owners giving to the two different Republican Democratic parties. And the funniest thing to me, they, first of all, they said, they said they spent 28 million. There’s 32 teams, 28 million. So it’s $875,000 per club, if you average it out, that’s not a lot of money for these guys that are billionaires, in some cases. But the funniest thing is, if I read it correctly, the Denver Broncos, owned by Walmart, the daughter, now married, actually gave money. And the Walmarts are historically Republicans, gave money, gave a million dollars.

Yeah. It seems she gave money to the Kamala Harris campaign, that’s right, yeah.

Did you hear that too?

Yeah, I was trying to read between the lines, because the writer was, was basically intimating that her father, or father in law, I’m not sure, Rob Walton. He’s a very big, you know, proponent of, of, Trump’s, or the Republicans, or whatever. And I was like, going, Well, wait a minute, how did the daughter, who basically manages and runs the campaign with her husband, how did she get this through? I and I, you know, at that point in time, I thought to myself, the Waltons are worth $100 billion he’s probably worth 30 billion, you know, what’s, what’s $800,000 right? Fred?

Laura, what do you think about one of the wall, Walmart people actually giving to the Democratic Party?

I don’t know. I’m not I’m not a big fan of billionaires, and I don’t think they should be running our country. Other than that, I don’t have a problem with them running football teams, but, yeah, I mean, I think that, you know, I think the women’s vote is going to make a difference in this election. I think that’s the gender gap is really astounding between the, the, two parties, and the relative support that they each have for men and women, especially in younger ages. I don’t know how they’re going to get together, these young kids, because, you know, when fear that’s so far polarized.

That’s the word. You hit it right there. Polar. Polarized. It truly is.

I mean, how are they going to be dating? How are they going to start dating when you’ve got such,

Here’s the scary part to me, you guys, is everybody going to keep cool, because we’re not going to know what really happened in this election till probably 10 days down the line. I read an article about Maricopa County and the fact that they’ve already said that they’re not going to be ready to, to release any stats until like the 10th or 11th. So I mean that that just tells me, wow, it’s crazy. I actually went and voted early, and it took us. There was such a snafu in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where we had to go. It took us almost two hours to get the ballot, to get, you know, everything done and, and, I mean, there were, there were 1000 people there, and I just felt like there’s got to be a better way to streamline this so that people can be involved and do their civic duty and vote for, you know, the most important thing there is, and it’s just, it just seems as though we need, we need to really reform the entire way of voting in the modern generations.

My story is next Tuesday. Folks are taping this Friday afternoon, November 1. Next Tuesday at two o’clock I’m getting a crown put on, folks, I am the worst person in the dental chair you will ever find. So I’m going to leave under Novocaine. If the wrong person’s winning the election by the time I get home, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to handle it. We’ll come back with more, and we’ll talk about the NFL this weekend, right here on Fred and the Fantastics.

We’re back on Fred and the Fantastics. The Fantastics. Laura Snoke, Art Sorce and heard on PodClips and BLEAV around the world.

Fred, I gotta ask you. I gotta ask you, I’m going to be up in State College tomorrow. I’m going to be watching number four Ohio State on the road in State College, 107,000 people in Beaver Stadium, yet they’re the they’re the Favorites against number three, Penn State. How does that work?

And again, Ohio State lost that one-point game to Oregon a few weeks ago, and that’s why they’re behind Penn State. I don’t know. Both teams are obviously very solid. I got to tell you the truth, again, with all the transfers and things like that, I’m not watching it as closely. I used to try to memorize the star players and all the team and I still have the Heisman vote. But honestly, in basketball, UCLA has got six transfers. Folks, I mean, it’s not the same as it was before. And that’s Mark Emmert’s fault and the NCAA. However, I think off of what I’ve seen at Penn State, if everybody’s healthy, including the quarterback, I think I like Penn State there.

The latest is he’s going to play. They said he’s going to be okay. Another big game, you know, and people, this has been kind of overshadowed in the, you know, possibly the best team in the country, number one ranked Oregon, goes to Michigan in the Big House to play at Michigan’s team that, you know, basically is playing with one arm behind their back, metaphorically, because they can’t throw the ball. And Oregon is favored by 14 and a half on the road at Michigan. Wow, that’s a long drop from National Champions last year to giving up 14 and a half points to a conference rival like Oregon. Your thoughts on that one, you guys?

Laura, have you got any opinion on, have you seen Oregon play this year?

You know, I haven’t. I was, I’m looking forward to watching that game, actually, because I haven’t seen Oregon play. I want to see them play. Michigan lost their quarterback, though, right?

They have a quarterback, Dylan Gabriel, started at Central Florida, then went to Oklahoma, now in Oregon.

I mean, from that championship team, they lost their quarterback right, didn’t their quarterback go to the NFL?

Yes, they lost six or seven really good players. What’s really interesting to me is, you know, go ahead, Fred,

I think Oregon’s going to win, but I’m not giving 14 and a half points. I think the Ducks,

You know, the Ducks are, are, trying to go to 9 and 0, for the first time since 2012. Now here’s a trivia question for you, Fred. I think he’s your favorite football coach of all time. I’m joking. Do you know who the coach was in that 2012 Ducks team?

Hang on, Ducks. 2012. Who was it?

Chip Kelly.

Kelly.

Oooh.

Oh yeah, but, see, but. But the thing was, I should have known that definitely, he took over for the predecessor who had built that program,

Yes, Belotti. He was the Oregon football coach.

Who was the athletic director, so I didn’t know Chip, I forgot his name, totally, that’s unbelievable. He’s now the offensive coordinator for Ohio State. Maybe that’s why I’m leaning toward Penn State. I don’t I don’t know. I should have taken a wager.

How about the world’s How about the world’s greatest cocktail party in Jacksonville? This is a trap game. This is a trap game because you’ve got a team that’s either looking really good or really bad. Georgia, who has all the talent in the world, but Florida now has won three games in a row. Billy Napier, probably coaching for his job in this game and, and, I actually went to one of these games in the late 80s, and I gotta tell you, want to talk about tailgating and having a good time in Jacksonville, the Georgia fans and the Florida fans, kind of in between, you know, two places, because Athens is not very far from Jacksonville, and neither is Gainesville, but that’s going to be a fun ball game as well.

Okay, let’s talk a couple NFL games this weekend, of course, on Thursday night, as indicated, 21-13 the Jets beat the Texans. Let’s talk about a couple of games, Raiders at the Bengals. The Raiders, three and six. The Bengals, three and five. Laura, you have any opinion? Bengals about a touchdown favorite in this one.

Can Bryce Young play?

There we go. The crash course of the playbook? He’s ready to go.

Artie, got an opinion?

I don’t think Mark Davis cares if the team wins. I think they, they, need to. He needs to sell the team to, to an owner who cares.

I agree.

Because, I just, he’s making so much money.

You know what scares me a little bit. You guys, the Bengals have the worst defense I’ve seen in the NFL in a long time outside of New Orleans. Okay? I look at them laying seven to the Raiders, and the Raiders do play great defense. There’s no doubt about that. That’s all anything they have going for them. They rock them, sock them, Crosby and that Spillane at middle linebacker. He’s tough. I think it’s going to be a closer game than people think. I’m going to go ahead and take the Raiders and the points to seven there, um, try to get the bullet if I can, but it probably won’t be able to. I’ll tell you, there’s another game that’s a real big game, Lions and Packers.

Yeah.

Which I think, you know, again. Now you have the Detroit Lions, who lost Hutchison, their all-pro defensive tackle, who’s, you know, right there with, with TJ and Garrett and Crosby, who I was talking about earlier.

Hutchison.

Hutchison, yeah. So, I mean, I’m looking at that ball game. Lions are favored by three and a half at Lambeau, and we get to see the ever-improving Tom Brady call the game on Fox.

Let me, let me say this, the way Jared Goff is playing, how can you possibly bet against the Lions? I mean, it’s every game. Last week, they had 52 points in the first three quarters.

I know.

He only threw for 85 yards.

He scored over 40 in three of the last four games.

Yeah, he’s getting like college football scores.

He’s hitting over 80, Laura, he’s hitting over 80% of his passes. Now, you know he was a, I thought, always thought he was a good quarterback at Cal, I thought he was a good quarterback with the Rams, not a good quarterback the first couple years with the Lions, but right now, he’s the MVP in the league. Is he not?

Yeah, he isn’t. And I think you have to look at Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator who’s really coveted by a lot of teams to be a head coach. What he’s been able to do, to take a guy who has a lot of talent, no doubt about Goff’s talent. You know, his dad was a catcher for the Montreal Expos, so he’s got athletics in his genes. But this offensive coordinator has taken Goff, and he just has him so focused on their offense and being able to do the reads. I’ll tell you what, he’s my MVP right now.

All right, one more game, right here on Fred and the Fantastics, Laura Snoke and Art Sorce, the Rams at Seattle. The Rams, a favorite on the road, Metcalf not going for Seattle. I’m not sure if Nacua, who has come back, is going to go for the Rams, because apparently on Wednesday or Thursday, he got hurt. So what do you think, Artie, what do you think of the Rams at Seattle?

I gotta tell you something. That whole NFC West. And you know, the, the Niners have done this like four years in a row, where they get to like 500 or three and four, and then they go on a big run. But I will tell you my personal opinion on this game is the Rams are going to win their third game in 10 days. It came from absolutely nowhere to be right back in the hunt. And who would have thunk it just, you know, like I said, eight, nine days ago.

Uh, Laura, they win on that Thursday night, as Artie’s indicating, over Minnesota. And before that, they were talking about Cooper Kupp being traded. Do you think if they had lost that game, they really would have traded Cooper Kupp? Laura, what do you think?

I don’t know. They might have because I don’t know, but they’re I was surprised they lost that game. I mean, they won that game and against Minnesota, because Minnesota has been playing great, but they didn’t play great in that game. I like Seattle, against the Rams, they generally played pretty well at home, and we’ll see

It is a tough place for a visiting team to come in and play, Lumen Field, and that place is loud. I mean, very, very loud.

Let me state this, if Mark had taken Seattle, we know the Rams would win, so we’re not sure because Laura is a better handicapper than Mark. for Laura, for Artie, for Mario. I am Fred, and stay tuned all the time for more of Fred and the Fantastics. Bye, everybody. Bye.
