Claudia Hagadus Long is one of the leading alternative dispute resolution neutrals in the Bay Area. An exceptionally skilled mediator, Ms. Long has mediated over 3000 cases and is currently a member of the ADR Services, Inc. panel of mediators. She is best known, regardless of the legal area, for approaching matters with intense and thorough preparation, taking a deep dive into the issues presented, and reaching parties on a personal and human level. Claudia is also a well-known novelist with eight novels to her credit, including Our Lying Kin, released in late February 2023. In her return visit to Masters of Dispute Resolution, this master storyteller and mediator shares a story of a caregiver hired to assist in the care of an elderly woman, entrusted with not only the care of the woman, but also provided with financial and personal support, suing the woman’s estate and her charge’s daughter for violations of the applicable wage and hour laws following the death of the woman. Hosted by Len Levy, this episode is an engaging story providing valuable lessons for everyone who has found the need to engage in home health care services or is otherwise involved in conflict.

Following her Magna Cum Laude graduation from Harvard University and Georgetown Law School, Claudia Hagadus Long has been a practicing attorney for 40 years, both as a civil litigator in small and large firms, in-house counsel at a large multinational bank, and in her own practice.

Her mediation practice areas are wide-ranging and include Real Estate, Banking, Employment Discrimination, Wrongful Termination, Wage & Hour, Indian/Native American Tribal Council disputes, and Estates and Trusts litigation.

Fluent in Spanish and French, Claudia is available to conduct mediations bi-lingually or entirely in Spanish if needed. She is trusted to resolve complex disputes with multifaceted and multi-disciplinary legal, organizational, cultural, and personal issues.
