Basketball fans will be out in droves as Caitlin Clark makes her Los Angeles debut with the Indiana Fever against the LA Sparks at Crypto.com Arena. A front-row seat for the game is reportedly being resold on the secondary market for … wait for it … $13,400. If that’s what premium tickets are going for, how much are they for the rank and file? Being a first-round draft pick means she was chosen by a struggling team, and many are expecting her to immediately improve the Fever. Is it completely unrealistic to put such a huge burden of expectation on the shoulders of one player? Will she follow in the footsteps of superstar Sue Bird, a great supporter who commented that Clark has had to endure the most pressure of any WNBA player in history? Has she singlehandedly raised the league’s profile or is this year’s highly anticipated rookie class responsible for the WNBA’s newfound popularity?

The US government is suing Ticketmaster for monopolizing the ticketing world, causing prices and fees for concerts, theater, and sporting events to skyrocket. With recent Super Bowl seats commanding thousands of dollars and basic entry to less monumental events hitting triple digits, should one company be able to effectively price most fans out of entertainment experiences just to increase their bottom line? Or is it possible that teams and artists have the greater authority over setting the costs, and merely pass that along through the ticketing giant to the consumer?

How will the Scottie Scheffler investigation pan out after his alleged physical altercation and subsequent arrest at the PGA Championship? Will the charges be quietly dropped and the Louisville police department benefit in some way via the sports organization? Do top-tier athletes receive preferential treatment?
